Hey, I'm Emma
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were challenging — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Kevno Ridax Vel
Much of the online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights gained from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated only when something genuinely changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Emma
